How the vignette is calculated in 2026
From 1 July 2026, the vignette for passenger cars (Category A, up to 3.5 tonnes) is calculated in lei, differentiated by the car's emission standard. Euro 6 and electric vehicles pay the base rate; Euro 4-5 cars pay 15% more, and Euro 3 or older 30% more. The rate also depends on the chosen period, from one day to 12 months.

How much is the yearly vignette in 2026?
For a passenger car, the 12-month vignette starts at 254 lei for Euro 6 or electric cars, 292 lei for Euro 4-5 and 330 lei for Euro 3 or older (rates from 1 July 2026).
Why does the vignette price differ by car?
